Golf de St Cast

North Brittany coast between St Malo and St Brieuc

Golf de St Cast

The Granville team at St Cast for the Foussier in September 2008

A beautifully set seaside course with basically two separate parts. The original holes were laid out beside the beach and have a links feel despite the huge trees that line the fairways. A newer part of the course sits on higher ground and is more like a parkland course but still with magnificent views over the sea. This is a fun course with a bit of everything but very tough when the wind blows up as it did on the day I played there in the Foussier team event. The clubhouse is small and friendly with a fantastic outlook over the course and the sea.

Favourite hole: 4th, a par 3 of just 100 metres with a pond in front of the tee and the double plateau green high above. The video below features this hole.

Best medal round: 92 during the Foussier team event on 06/09/08 (although did shoot 77 with my partner in the foursomes the following day!)
